About us

Guiding Young Youth Toward a Brighter Tomorrow

Connecting The D.O.T.T.S  is an innovative and research-based organization that aims to make a positive impact on the lives of youth and young adults, with a focus on those with currently incarcerated or previously incarcerated parents. Through mentorship, counseling, and facilitating re-engagement, we aim to reduce the rate of the youth and young adults we serve from becoming incarcerated themselves.

Connecting the D.O.T.T.S provides the youth with the tools they need to succeed by focusing on their educational, social, emotional, and recreational health resulting in establishing a foundation for self-awareness and engagement with loved ones that can set children up for success in their future.

statistics

47% of inmates in Virginia state prisons and 57% in federal prisons are parents of minor children.

Youth and young adults with that have experienced parental incarceration are 5 times more likeIy to become incarcerated themselves.
