Who We Are

"Those who have lived it are leading it"

We are dedicated to surrounding children with a community of belonging where they feel safe and secure enough to begin their healing process and where they are supported by other youth and young adults who have similar experiences as they do.

The Founder of Connecting the D.O.T.T.S is a former child of an incarcerated parent as well as several of our volunteers and staff share this similarity as well.

Our Values

We do more than what you think.

We value the transformative impact of collaboration. By working together with our young women and men, fostering open communication, furthering understanding, and building caring and supportive communities, we can achieve something bigger than we could ever imagine. We believe in the value of healthy, lasting relationships between our staff, volunteers, Board members, youth and their families, and do our part to contribute to our communities.

Mission statement

What we are after.

Our mission is to instill guidance, mentorship, and provide coping mechanisms to develop healthy, happy, and purpose-driven youth and young adults who defeat the odds and refute the statistics.

Services we provide

One on one and group mentorship and life skills coaching, resume’ building and job interview coaching, referrals for mental health services, educational tutoring and referrals to educational, arts, athletic, and recreational programs.

We also provide these same services to juveniles released from juvenile detention centers to help decrease their recidivism rate.

"I am not a product of my circumstances. I am a product of my decisions."
